Feb 19 2013 - Feb 21 2013, South Africa
Sandton Convention Centre
Key on the agenda of the 5th annual Africa Energy Indaba, organised by the African Union’s (AU) New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) Agency, South African National Energy Association (Sanea) and the World Energy Council (WEC), is to accelerate the implementation of NEPAD’s Programme for Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA).
PIDA provides a common framework for African stakeholders to build the infrastructure necessary for more integrated energy, transport (road, rail, sea, air and pipeline, information and communication technology (ICT) and trans-boundary water networks in Africa. One of its objectives is to ensure sustainable access to energy for all Africans by 2040.
The Africa Energy Indaba, adopted by the World Energy Council (WEC) as the Africa regional event of the WEC, receives global recognition as the foremost event for energy professionals from across the globe and is rapidly gaining momentum as the energy business forum in Africa. Presented by the South African National Energy Association (SANEA) in association with the World Energy Council, the forum has achieved the highest level of endorsement and support and as such is without doubt the leading energy event in Africa.
The Indaba will be held from the 19th – 21st February 2013, at the Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg, South Africa. The conference continues to grow and has become the foremost forum for debating and exchanging solutions to Africa’s energy challenges and focuses on: African power suppliers; alternative and renewable energies; oil and gas; the legal and regulatory framework, and investment opportunities in African energy projects, to name a few. The exhibition has become a significant market-place for African and international stakeholders doing business in Africa’s energy sector.
The conference will provide an opportunity to:
- Debate policy
- Review industrial progress and market trends
- Discuss the efficiency of various public support mechanisms and public-private partnerships across the continent
- Review new data and the latest technological trends globally.
Delegates in the early stages of their careers will have an unprecedented opportunity to develop their knowledge and understanding of the energy sector and to lay the foundations for their role as “Future Energy Leaders”.
